Due to high demand for photographers hoping to capture this magical experience, Yosemite National Park plans far in advance and requires reservations during these weekends. Here’s what you need to know; 🌅 When & Where: Firefall generally happens on February evenings around 5:15 PM, but you’ll want to arrive EARLY to snag a spot if you’d like to capture it! The El Capitan picnic area is the best viewpoint and doesn’t require hiking. 🎟 Park Reservations: No reservations are required if you visit midweek. However, if you’re visiting on weekends reservations are required from 2/8-23. To snag a reservation you will have to try to book two days (at 8am sharp!) before your planned dates.
